Google and Yahoo are some of the major search engines that offer such fixed placement advertising. These programs would mostly be found at the top of the results pages. They are called as ‘sponsored links’ by Google. These links can be found mostly before the organic listings. Fixed placement usually takes lesser time to manage than other categories of paid ad programs. Moreover the costs are also fixed. A major advantage is to lock out the competition from the top spot as well lock you ad rates for a certain period.
