Should you really care about page rank?

When you are designing your website, a very important thing to do is to design and develop content that will be useful in getting you a high page rank. Page rank no matter what is very important. If you want to be noticed by a customer, if you want them to find and reach your website you should appear higher in the search list. An SEO has to keep in mind that his efforts have to be directed to achieving a high page rank.

Page rank in general is between 1-10 as well as indicates the quality of the page incoming links. Page rank zero is usually given to new pages, pages with few incoming link and web pages using the black hat strategies. The page rank zero may be harmful. However if you have a link from a page rank zero website it is neither harmful not useful. However it may not be always in your control to control the incoming links. When you are linking to outside websites it may cause PR leakage. You should be careful about selecting the number of links outside. It is also important that you do not have any links with dead links that leads to you PR being wasted. When you have incoming links from high PR pages it proves to be effective in providing you a good PR. You can find it very useful to have different pages of your website linking to the home page. It gives the PR a boost and also emphasizes its importance as compared to other website.
